Kindness

“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” -Mark Twain

K is for Kindness

Not sure if kindness is an actual emotion but I do know that the act of kindness can bring about a multitude of emotions in both the giver and receiver. Since I am having a hard time finding an actual emotion that starts with the letter “K” I’m sticking with kindness. Being kind means doing something nice for someone. Acts of kindness can be complimenting a stranger, buying a homeless person a meal, leaving a kind note for a friend or family member, or holding a door open for an elderly person. There is an abundance of ways you can show kindness and even the smallest act of kindness can help heal a broken heart, make someone feel valued, and generate trust. Kindness is an action in which you choose to either express or you don’t. It is also something that is rarely practiced. I believe that being a genuinely kind person says a lot about a person’s character.

Synonym of kindness – humanity
Antonym of kindness – animosity

    • I am so far behind in replying to comments : ( I am following you now and am looking forward to reading about kindness. Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog post.

  1. Kindness to others is not as prevalent nowadays, or so it seems anyway. I can’t count how many times a person in front of me has failed to keep a door open as I approach the doorway. Maybe manners has more to do with that though. 😉
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, just returning the favour. 🙂

    • You don’t see people holding doors like they used to. Or giving up their seat on a bus for someone who is disabled or pregnant. Sad that society seems to lack not only kindness but also manners. Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog.

    • Even picking a flower for someone can show kindness. That is as long as the flower isn’t on the property of a neighbor…lol Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog.
