W2016 Wreaths Across America
http://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/

Wreaths Across America began in 1992 and is a non-profit organization that places wreaths on the graves of veterans buried in Arlington National Cemetery, and other veteran cemeteries as well.

It all began when Morrill Worcester of Worcester Wreath Company of Harrington, Maine found that he had many unsold wreaths at the end of the holiday season. He decided to donate the wreaths, which were placed on graves in a older section of Arlington National Cemetery, where visitors were fewer every passing year.

From there, Wreaths Across America has grown to a week of events, which includes a convoy of ceremonial vehicles, tractor-trailers, buses, etc, transporting wreaths from Maine to Virginia.

Since Wreaths Across America’s mission is to Remember, Honor, Teach, while driving down the East Coast, the group stops at schools, memorials, and other places in Maine, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland before they make their last stop at Arlington National Cemetery.

This event happens every December, with the next one being held on December 17, 2016.

    • I have a son and daughter who both live in VA. My son is in the navy and my daughter is married to a man in the Navy. I was once upon a time a navy wife. I would love to participate in this event. Maybe one year!
