Founded in 2007, Minding Your Mind, is a non-profit organization in Ardmore, PA, that offers programs that help to understand and put an end to the stigma of mental illness. These programs open communication about mental health and suicide prevention.
According to their website suicide between the ages of 14-23 is the third cause of death. Also, one out of four people suffer from some sort of mental illness. Sadly, only three out of ten individuals actually seek help.
This non-profit organization offers many programs. Some examples are The Speaker Program which offers education about the stigma of mental illness, the signs and symptoms, the effectiveness of seeking help and much more.
The “You Are More” workshop is a four part series offered to adolescent and teen girls. Some of the topics covered are eating disorders, cutting/self harm and self esteem.
