http://www.dadsmakeadifference.org/

This non-profit organization, Dads Make A Difference, was started in 1993.

This program promotes awareness of the important role a father makes in the life of a child. It targets mostly middle school and high school students, both male and female.

Dads Make A Difference offers training programs for students in middle or high school. The curriculum is taught by high school trained peer educators.

Some of the subjects that the middle school curriculum covers are the importance of a father, pregnancy prevention, responsibility of being a parent, and legal responsibilities. The high school curriculum includes discussion of complex social issues, case studies, challenging the student to plan for self improvement and a healthy future.

  1. Hooray for speaking up for dads, a mostly maligned and marginalized group but so critical to healthy family life!!

    Tamara

  3. Fathers are important – although women have managed splendidly throughout the ages to bring children up on their own that difference can add a whole new layer to childhood and exeriences
