The mission of LoveYourMelon.com is to end childhood cancer by raising money for research initiatives and for supporting these children and their families.
Love Your Melon is a non-profit apparel company that donates a hat to every child who is battling cancer in the United States. This non-profit was started by college students.
For every Love Your Melon product sold 50% of the net proceeds is donated to battling child cancer through the Pinky Swear Foundation and to the Cure Search For Children’s Cancer to help with research in finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Their Ambassador Program is exclusively for students (college and high school) who are serious about making an improvement in the lives of children who are battling cancer. Love Your Melon ambassadors wear superhero costumes when they deliver their donated hats to child cancer patients in hospitals.

Mary’s knitting group gets all kinds of requests for chemo caps and preemie caps. I guess it’s terrible there’s such a need for them, but at the same time I think it brings out the best in people, and the patients (or, in the case of the preemie caps, the mothers) really appreciate getting them.
