The mission of DeathWithDignity.org is to advocate for Death With Dignity laws. They believe that terminally ill adults who are mentally competent should have the right to request a prescripton medication that will quicken their death.

Your tax deductible contribution helps the Death with Dignity National Center

Defend Dignity
This is accomplished by being able to pay for costly and lengthy legal defense of the Death With Dignity Law and with building alliances and partnerships.
 
Mobilize Dignity
This is accomplished by education and outreach. Also with supporting those states that are seeking to pass Death With Dignity laws that are similar to their legislation model, The Oregon Death With Dignity Act. This website offers credible resources for research. Anyone who makes a donation receives their Dignity Report newsletter which had more than 10,000 readers. This newsletter offers articles, updates, and reviews.
 
Preserve Dignity
This is accomplished by ensuring financial vitality and its place as the leader of the Death With Dignity movement. Promoting the Death with Dignity Law through education and information over 80% of program expense were used.

Also known as Ms57Classic I came into this world on a summer morning on July 22, 1957. Newborn babies usually do not cry real tears at birth because their tear ducts have not formed yet. But I cried real tears! I have been through many things in my life and have dealt with a multitude of situations and emotions. I have been married and divorced twice. I am an ex-navy wife. I am a mom, a Grammie of 8 (so far), a sister, an aunt, and a friend of longevity. I have a son and a son-in-law in the US Navy and am very proud of their job decision and their accomplishments. My job as a mother is FOREVER. It will not stop when a child of mine reaches the age of 18! I have always been well liked, but not liked by all. I can stretch a dollar like it’s a rubber band. I like the person I am. I graduated from a writing school. I am in the process of writing a book. I graduated from University of Phoenix at the age of 56 with an associate’s degree in Art. I am disabled, having a multitude of health issues. I had a corneal transplant and since then have become an advocate for organ and tissue donation. One of my hobbies is finding those who share the exact birthday as me – July 22, 1957.   6. A campaign for such laws went through our Scottish Parliament a few years ago, promoted by an MSP who had MS. It was defeated and she has since died, but another MSP has taken it up in her memory and it is being discussed again. I’m in favour, though I understand why it is controversial.

    • I understand too why it’s controversial. In Massachusetts Death With Dignity was up for vote but it didn’t pass. Thank you for stopping by to read and comment.

  7. I couldnt be more in agreement with this particular cause. That a terminally ill person can choose to help their dog to suffer no more, but not themselves is an absurdity.

    • It’s a shame that we have the option to end our pets suffering but we don’t do that for a human being. I think it’s a human right to be able able to choose death with dignity.

  8. This has to be as controversial a topic as abortion – so many ways it can be misused. And yet, I find myself so strongly in favour of it, having seen my great grandmother suffer for months with a brain tumor before finally passing.

    Perhaps one day…
