Elvis Aaron Presley
January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977

I don’t think there is anyone in the world who doesn’t know who Elvis Presley is!  Known as the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis has entertained us since the mid 1950’s.

Heartbreak Hotel was Elvis’s first #1 billboard song in 1956. And it wasn’t his last.  His deep baritone voice brought about numerous hits such as Don’t Be Cruel, Jail House Rock and All Shook Up.

In 1956, Elvis found himself acting in his first film, Love Me Tender.  From there he starred in over 30 movies such as G.I. Blues, Viva Las Vegas and my all time favorite Elvis movie, Change Of Habit with Mary Tyler Moore.

Elvis was drafted in 1958 and served his time as a soldier in Germany.  He could have joined the Special Services Entertainment Division but decided against it.

Elvis’s last concert was in June 1977 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Sadly, he died on August 16, 1977 at the age of 42.  Cause of death was a heart attack, most likely brought on by his drug abuse.
