Dear Fellow Bloggers,
Just wondering if I should use hashtags in the title of my blog posts. I don’t usually, as I don’t like the way it looks. Would it be better to put them in the post itself or not even use them at all?
Would appreciate any advice or suggestions.

I use hashtags often so that any time someone tweets a post, the post can be seen under those certain categories. Otherwise, the post gets lost in the E-Ether. x
Do you use them in titles or in the post somewhere? I know they are good to use. Just not sure where to put them.
I use them in the titles and the tags for the posts. I’m not sure if it does much use for the tags, but I do know the hashtags help whenever someone tweets the post.
I’m with you, Cheryl, I don’t like how the look in the title.
I think it makes the title look messy.
In Blogs it depends on the topic where you have used. I haven’t used as yet but without hashtags i find better and original expression

Hmmm, personally I would say no. I don’t see the benefit of doing it (unlike, say, Instagram where hashtags are searchable). You could add tags to the post via the WP editor, or even hashtag some words at the bottom of the content. I’d agree that in the title it’d look rather messy. That said, if it’s for a specific post and you’re doing it for effect (ie. in a joking kind of way), then that would be different. #wheredidthesehashtagscomefrom?!

I don’t like the way hashtags look in the title, either. I personally do not use them at all.
I used them once in a blog post title a few days ago and I just don’t like the way they look. But I’ve read how using hashtags can help your blog post reach.
Place what you would hash tag in the category and Tag boxes on the right-hand side of the blog.

I’ve never used one in a blog post title, but I hardly qualify as an authority on hashtags. My advice, for what it’s worth, is just use your own best judgment.
I just put them in the tags, Cheryl. I also don’t like the look in the title, and I have no idea if it makes any difference since I’m clueless in general. 🙂

I do not believe I have ever used them before but I do not see anything wrong with it.
Personally, I don’t like hashtags in titles. Other than making it messy, it creates a distance between the reader and the writer for I’m not sure what the writer is trying to convey. But at the end of the day, it depends on what you want to achieve and is entirely up to you.

Your decision to use it should, in my view, depend on the value it could add to your blog.

Hashtags in titles make me click away from that blog immediately! I think it looks too messy and I want to immediately see the title – to see if the post looks interesting to me – without having to sort through hashtags.
