Today is the official start of the Summer Biannual Blogathon Bash. If you have never heard of this event, it was created and is run by Kathleen Garber. The purpose of this bash is to get 24 hours of blogging tasks done within the time frame of June 20 – June 23. Prizes will be awarded. This is my first time participating in this blogging event.
There are a multitude of tasks that go with blogging. Creating content is not the only function of a successful blogger. There is finding or creating images, managing the blog such as replying to comments, updating, establishing an online presence using social media, and adverting your blog. And that is not everything that needs to be done continuously. Just finding the time to do anything blog related is a task in itself.
My goals for this blogging task are as follows:
Catch up on all email (I have over 1000).
Catch up on all blog comments.
Catch up on award blogs (I have two I have yet to accept). <— Got one done
Work on updating Pinterest
Work on updating +Google
Make a list of things I want to blog about
Create a blog schedule
Check out the blogs of other Biannual Blogathon Bash participants and follow, like, or comment.
As soon as I am done with a task I will come back to this blog post and cross it out. On June 24th I will add the hours that I spent on the blogging tasks. Let's see if I can make the 24 hour mark!
UPDATE – As the saying goes, "You win some, you lose some." Lots of things interfered with my being able to dedicate 24 hours to bloging tasks. I did get a little over 6 hours in though. Better luck next time!
That’s impressive to even get started on a challenge like that. It seems quite daunting. What I do like about it is that you identify the things you want to do in that regard. If I could get a good list established, and then give myself a longer time frame to fit in those 24 hours, I think I’d be more inclined to participate. You still made good progress!
