If only I were more spontaneous or adventurous maybe my life would be more exciting. But here I am, a creature of habit.
It’s said that the more we do something, the more likely it will turn into a habit. I often wonder if always doing things the same way is good or bad.
Take directions for example. I always go the same way whenever I drive somewhere. The good is I always know where I am going. The bad, well let’s say there is a detour. That little sign brings panic to my world!
I have to make my bed every morning, right after I’ve had my coffee. To not do it would drive me crazy all day! I don’t know why I have to do this. It’s not like there are bed police that come by and check to see if it’s made or not…lol
So many habits, and in my mind, no need to change. What about you? Are you also a creature of habit?

I’m the same with bedmaking. I have to do it after I come back from early morning gym or aquafit. But not before breakfast. That way it airs. I also have to get up at 6.30am on weekdays to do aqua or Pilates. I feel guilty if I don’t . I always have coffee at 11 but no more after that. I always write a diary when I go to bed which is always around 10.30pm. I always listen to audio books when doing boring jobs. So many habits and routines. But they are necessary to support the lifestyle I want.
I have quite a few habits and routines myself. And like you, I feel guilty when I don’t do them. It gets us through the day though. Thanks for stopping by to read and comment.
I used to rebel against routine or anything that made my life repetitious. Now I get irritated if someone deviates me from my usual schedule!
It seems that we often change things about ourselves as we get older. Thanks for stopping by!
Habits and lists to keep me on track with my habits.
So true! Thank you for stopping by.
Habit gives comfort and routine makes life easy. I have my routines but am pretty flexible! But my special boy with anxiety and ocd thrives on routines!
I agree with you on routines giving us comfort and making life easier. I understand how having routines would help with things such as anxiety and ocd. Thank you so much for stopping by!
Creature of Habit! Oh yes, I can relate to that, especially as I get older. Do check out my blog here: https://www.sundarivenkatraman.in/
I think as we get older we tend to want to have more routine in our life. It makes it easier.
I always make my bed before I leave the house. I am superstitious and heard it was bad luck not to.
Never heard of it being bad luck. Glad that I make it then!
