When I saw the words road trip, it immediately brought back memories of so many past road trips. If you have been, or are, a member of a military family you can relate to road trips. Many, many road trips.

Being an ex-navy wife I have been on many relocation trips and family visit trips. Trips could be from 10 to 18 hours, depending on many factors. All with five kids in tow! Sometimes a cat or a dog thrown in. Once with both the dog and cat.

Back then, cell phones weren’t like they are today. I don’t think vehicles were equip with DVD players yet. I know the cars we had didn’t have them. Entertainment was listening to the radio, reading a book, or aggravating a sibling.

Those trips were so exhausting, often frustrating but also filled with lots of laughter.

Years have gone by. Kids are grown up, most have kids of their own. Life has changed.

What is a road trip that I would love to take, you ask?

One more road trip, like the ones I had years ago when my kids were young (minus the husband, thank you). One more memory of days gone by.
