Musical Monday ~ Songs With The Color WHITE In The Title

Welcome to Musical Monday! Music has been known to affect our emotions. Listening to music can make us happy or sad, relaxed or motivated, put us to sleep or make us want to dance. Music absolutely plucks at our heartstrings bringing to the surface a multitude of emotions.

Someone once described music to me as a time machine. When we listen it often transports us back to a place in time. A certain song can bring back feelings of someone we loved, our wedding day, someone who died, or any of the many important times in our lives.

Music has always been a big part of my life. When I am sad listening to a sad song often allows me to release that sadness. Happy songs tend to take away my sadness. It has helped motivate me to do housework. Yep, just crank up the radio or a music television station and I’m good to go. Warning: Be careful not to turn your music up too loud though. I have actually blown out the speakers in a television once doing this.

I have been known to start singing in a store when a song that I like comes on, I tend to sing along with songs while I am driving, and it isn’t unusual to see me moving to the music in my computer chair as I sit and listen to music.

This week I am posting Songs With The Color White In The Title. Please leave your favorite song with the color white in the comments below. You may see your song posted in upcoming blog posts. 1. As for me, when i hear a certain music in the past for the first time in specific location with some specific persons, it takes me back to the past when i had heard for the first time. It reminds to that location and whom i spent my time at that moment. As i imagined thad i could see them in my naked eyes. Truely, music is connected with our emotion. Good topic.

  2. Props for including White Lightning! But don’t forget “White Hot,” Tom Cochrane’s tribute to symbolist poet Arthur Rimbaud.

    • When I googled White Hot I found it was released in 1978. 70’s music is my favorite. So I checked it out on YouTube and I have never heard this song before. I’m wondering how it got by me : )

  3. I knew as soon as I saw today’s theme that my choice would be Nights in White Satin, even if it wasn’t on your list! Great choices here (though I was a little surprised not to see Billy Idol’s White Wedding among these!)–my #2 would have been Three Dog Night’s Black & White, which was on the charts at the same time as NIWS. So many great songs came out in 1972!

  4. Procul Harem “Whiter shade of pale”. The lyrics did not make much sense to me then and they still don’t . I just used to think it was a “stoners” song. But I have not forgotten it.

  5. The only two I could think of were “Nights In White Satin” and Billy Idol’s “White Wedding”. Oh, I just saw that jaimehaneyartist said White Wedding. Oh, I just thought of another one, “White Christmas.”

Looking at anne leueen’s comment . . . I think that song was about something much more potent than pot. That sounds like some hallucinogenic drugs. That is crazy. I think at one time I did some research about what it was about, but I forgot. I think it was a crazy party that they experienced.

    • i thought about adding White Christmas but didn’t because it;s a Christmas song. Guess it wouldn’t have mattered…lol Now that a few people have mentioned Whiter Shade of Pale I feel like researching it : ) Thank you for stopping by.

  6. Definitely Procul Harem “Whiter shade of pale” and “Nights in white satin” you mentioned. Interesting you’re talking about colors in music titles. I’ll be doing the same on April 30, stay tuned!

  7. I do like most of these, but “White Liar”, by Miranda Lambert gets my vote. I love all her songs, and have seen her in concert. Great performance!
