PLUCKED FROM THE NEWS… Chris Dempsey overheard a conversation at work about a woman who needed a liver. The co-worker was talking about her cousin, Heather Krueger, who was dealing with stage 4 liver disease and needed a donor liver to save her life.
Dempsey, a former Marine, decided to get tested in hopes that he was a match. He was!
The two met before surgery and felt an instant love connection.
The procedure went well, although Chris did have some complications which were resolved.
Heather received 55% of Chris’s liver.
Both Chris and Heather’s livers have fully regenerated.
Last month Chris proposed and the two are planning an October wedding.
