“We don’t see people as they are. We see people as we are.” -Anais Nin
I first came across this quote many years ago, while participating in an AOL email group. It caught my attention because it rings true for me. My take on this is if you trust people, you are probably trustworthy. If you see people as kind, you are probably a kind person. If you see people as untrustworthy, maybe you shouldn’t be trusted. If you see people as evil, well…..
Basically, you are seeing people as the kind of person you are, not the kind of person they are.
I suppose it might not be true for all people, but it just makes sense to me. Especially since I have been able to apply this concept to some people I know.
Nin’s quote makes perfect sense! I think my favorite quote would be something from the Bible, and it’d depend on what mood I’m in!
A good quote. Thank you 😊
