If you read my January 1 challenge post titled, What advice would you give your teenage self, you know that I dropped out of high school due to bullying.
I did obtain my GED when I was raising two of my children. But always wanted to go to college. I was attending, for a short time in 1990, but soon after met and married my now ex-husband. I gave that dream up to follow him to Virginia (he was in the navy) and help raise his two children.
Then disabilities caused me to put that dream on the back burner for so very long.
Due to online college, I was able to make that dream come true. It took me more time than usual to get through all the classes because of health challenges that occurred during that time. Getting through those algebra classes is another story. So many times I wanted to give up. But I didn’t….
In July of 2013, I obtained an Associates of Art Degree.
It was also the first year that the University of Phoenix allowed their online students to participate in the graduation ceremony, so I was able to walk that walk.
