Glen Campbell
April 22, 1936 – August 8, 2017

Glen Campbell’s show business career lasted fifty years. In that time he was an American singer, song writer, guitarist, actor and television host.

Campbell released around 70 albums and sold roughly 45 million records. In his lifetime he received 12 gold albums, 4 platinum and 1 double platinum award. At the Grammys in 1967 he made history by winning 4 country and pop categories.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2010, Campbell set out on his “Goodbye Tour.” His final show was in Napa, California on November 30, 2012.

In 2012, Campbell was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Campbell died in Nashville, Tennessee on August 8, 2017. He was 81.

  1. What a fantastic artist he was; I’ve always loved his music, and him. He was a great guy. Our local radio station plays his music often; what a winner he was!

    • Hi Carolyn. Over the years I have only heard nice things about him. He was very well liked and so very talented. If I am not mistaken he was in the movie True Grit with John Wayne many years ago. Thank you for taking the time to stop by : )
