Musical Monday ~ Songs With The COLOR BLUE In The Title

Welcome to Musical Monday! Music has been known to affect our emotions. Listening to music can make us happy or sad, relaxed or motivated, put us to sleep or make us want to dance. Music absolutely plucks at our heartstrings bringing to the surface a multitude of emotions.

Someone once described music to me as a time machine. When we listen it often transports us back to a place in time. A certain song can bring back feelings of someone we loved, our wedding day, someone who died, or any of the many important times in our lives.

Music has always been a big part of my life. When I am sad listening to a sad song often allows me to release that sadness. Happy songs tend to take away my sadness. It has helped motivate me to do housework. Yep, just crank up the radio or a music television station and I’m good to go. Warning: Be careful not to turn your music up too loud though. I have actually blown out the speakers in a television once doing this.

I have been known to start singing in a store when a song that I like comes on, I tend to sing along with songs while I am driving, and it isn’t unusual to see me moving to the music in my computer chair as I sit and listen to music.

This week I am posting songs with the word blue in the title . Please leave your favorite song with the word blue in the title in the comments below. 1. My favorite Blue song was popular when I was a very little girl, it’s called “Love is Blue,” and it’s played by Paul Mauriat. My mother had the record, and I remember the cover had a lady on it with body paint. I remember being so shocked because she didn’t have any clothes on, lol.

    • Thanks for sharing : )

      “Love Is Blue”

Blue, blue, my world is blue
Blue is my world since I’m without you
Gray, gray, my life is gray
Cold is my heart since you went away

Red, red, my eyes are red
Crying for you alone in my bed
      Green, green, my jealous heart
I doubted you and now we’re apart

When we met how the bright sun shone
Then love died, now the rainbow is gone

Black, black, the nights I’ve known
Longing for you so lost and alone
Gone, gone, the love we knew
Blue is my world now I’m without you.

  2. Linda Ronstadt is one of my favorite singers. What a voice, she could do it all. Too bad she can’t sing anymore.

      • Sorry, I assumed you knew she had Parkinsons. Yes, I saw that. Some are saying it is from alcohol. He had been suffering from years of abuse from that. I used to love him when I was about 9. I think that he was affected by the death of a fan, and injuries sustained by several others at a concert many years ago. It’s really sad and tragic, his dad was an alcoholic and died tragically in a house fire.

          • It was I remember it and I was really young at the time, but I watched The Prtridge Family every week. I think it was on, on Fridays. I used to buy all the teen magazines. Yes, his life was not all happy and sunshine.

              • Bobby was just a couple years before that for me. I heard he went on to become a firefighter or paramedic, not sure which. I had older friends who also liked him.

                  • Wow that must have been cool. My birthday was yesterday.Same day as Michael Caine, and Albert Einstein. I forgot the others, but no teen idols or really hot guys.

                    • Oh, for sure. Yes, he was very, and I am not only attracted to his looks, but his mind. He was quite the womanizer and quite handsome when he was younger.
Even when he was older with the wild hair and sloppy dresser, I admire that, because he was being himself. he wasn’t to good with his wives. National Geographic channel has a mini series coming out about him Called Genius. Geoffrey Rush plays the older Albert, and some hot guy, I have no idea who he s, plays the younger. I think it comes out in April. I really want to see it. I don’t think Michael Caine is bad either, I think he got better looking as he aged, same with Sean Connery.

                    • They keep showing clips of it, and it looks good. The film in the previews to me has a kind of washed out look which makes it interesting as a period piece.

                    • It is on National Geographic when it airs, I am not sure about the date. I will have to check the channel and next time I see it let you know, pretty sure it is April.
