Welcome to Musical Monday! Music has been known to affect our emotions. Listening to music can make us happy or sad, relaxed or motivated, put us to sleep or make us want to dance. Music absolutely plucks at our heartstrings bringing to the surface a multitude of emotions.
Someone once described music to me as a time machine. When we listen it often transports us back to a place in time. A certain song can bring back feelings of someone we loved, our wedding day, someone who died, or any of the many important times in our lives.
Music has always been a big part of my life. When I am sad listening to a sad song often allows me to release that sadness. Happy songs tend to take away my sadness. It has helped motivate me to do housework. Yep, just crank up the radio or a music television station and I’m good to go. Warning: Be careful not to turn your music up too loud though. I have actually blown out the speakers in a television once doing this.
I have been known to start singing in a store when a song that I like comes on, I tend to sing along with songs while I am driving, and it isn’t unusual to see me moving to the music in my computer chair as I sit and listen to music.
This week I am posting Songs With The Color Green In The Title. Please leave a song title of your favorite “GREEN” song in the comments below. You may see your song posted in upcoming blog posts. Also please take the poll at the end of this post. And if you have enjoyed this blog post don’t forget to sign up to follow my blog so you’ll never miss a Musical Monday post. Got some great ones here, Cheryl! I did a Friday Five of “green” songs a while back (https://thesoundofonehandtyping.wordpress.com/2015/08/28/five-green-songs/) and you got most of them, but you found a few I didn’t even think of! Some real good ones here, too!
Hey, I wanted to invite you to link up with us on Monday’s Music Moves Me. X-Mas Dolly (http://www.xmasdolly.com/) keeps the Linky for that. It’s a good way to get more traffic and meet some new folks!
Thanks John and thanks for the link but I can’t seem to find the Linky for Monday’s Music Moves Me. Probably right in front of me! I’ll look again when my eyes are not so tired. Thanks for inviting me.

Reblogged this on An Array Of Blogs.
[…] Probably this one from O. C. Smith, which Cheryl Wright, who blogs at Plucking of my Heartstrings, included in her music post today. I love O. C.’s voice, not just on this […]
I’ve nominated you for the Music and Words Award. I won’t be offended if you don’t accept it, but it’s an award for music bloggers, or for people who write about music on a regular basis. You can see my post, with all pertinent details, here. Congratulations!
Thanks for the nomination! I will work on this tomorrow. Only problem will be finding people who blog about music to nominate.
She’s another one who blogs every day, and it’s a little hard to find things on her page, but the most current page with the Linky on it is http://www.xmasdolly.com/2016/03/06/mondays-music-moves-me-225/
